9u Bombers Win Thriller

Wednesday night’s 9u game featuring the 7-2 St. Paul Knights and 5-3 Bombers proved once again to offer maximum entertainment. The two teams have squared off three times in the past two seasons with each game bringing out the best in both teams.

While the Bombers held the edge of the St. Paul Knights having won both match ups during their 8u Machine Pitch days, the table appeared to be turning on Wednesday night as the Knights held a 6-2 lead with only the bottom half of the 5th inning to play.

Needing four runs to tie and 5 runs to win, the Bombers were able to get base runners on early and slowly chipped away at the 4 run lead. Zeke B. battled to a full count before getting an infield single that scored the tying run, bringing Corey F. to the plate with 2 on and 2 out. After getting ahead in the count 3-0, Corey F. smashed a high outside pitch to deep left field. It was a game ending home run, propelling the Bombers to 6-3 with one game left on the schedule.
