The 8u-Ashby Bombers got off to a slow start on Wednesday night but finished strong for a 22-15 victory. The Tigers presented a difficult test for the Bombers as both teams were consistently putting the ball in play forcing the defense to make plays.
Nate E. and Carter A. had their best offensive nights of the season, both tallying 4 hits on the night. Carter A. led the club with 4 RBI on doubles in his last two at bats on the night. Luke B. and Grayson C. added 3 RBI each as well.
Luke L. hit the ball hard again this evening and nearly notched a home run before being called back to 3rd base as the defense was able to get the ball back into the infield just as he was approaching home plate.
All in all it was a different kind of test for the Bombers as they were forced to play a complete ballgame in order to pull out the victory.
The 8u Bombers are back in action Monday night when they play the Wildcats at Westhoff Field #2.
