May 4 – St. Paul, MO – The 7u Green Bombers found themselves in a tight game to open their 2015 season on the road at St. Paul on Monday night. A four run 4th inning, led by Dalton L.’s two run double, allowed the Bombers to carry a 6-4 lead into the bottom half of the final inning.
Four Bombers had multiple hits in the game led by a 3 hit, 2 RBI performance by Dalton L. Lucas L. added two hits of his own in his two at bats, as did Cole S. and Nicholas P. The Bombers had 14 hits in 25 at bats in a 6-5 victory.
Just as they did in each of the first three innings, St. Paul threatened with the bases loaded in the bottom half of the 4th and final inning. The Bombers defense held tough once again, limiting St. Paul to one run to clinch their first win of the season.
Lucas L. earned Player of the Game honors for his work in the field at SS and his 2-2 performance at the plate. Lucas L. turned an unassisted double play in the first inning, limiting what looked to be a big first inning for St. Paul. Lucas L. caught a hard hit line drive in the 2nd to again stall a St. Paul rally.
