Bombers Rainout Information

Today’s weather got us thinking about the protocol for updating Bombers Families on the status of practice or games when inclement weather could be an issue.

We will be using Twitter as a primary communication tool. You can log on to twitter at www.twitter.com and if you don’t have an account you’ll want to register for one.

You will create a “Handle” (User Name) during the registration process and also be encouraged to select 5 Twitter Feeds to follow.  We recommend the following:

  • @BombersBball – Bombers Baseball Team
  • @Bombers_Bball – Bombers Basketball Team
  • @PrepsportsSTCH – Prep Sports Coverage for St. Charles County
  • @Dustin_Ashby – Coach Dustin
  • @MLB – Major League Baseball

(Left – Screenshot of where in Twitter you will select to receive Mobile Alerts from @BombersBball.  By selecting to receive Mobile Alerts, you will receive a text each time a post is made to the Bombers Baseball Twitter Account)

You can always just visit www.bombersbaseball.org and check the Twitter Feed on the right side of the home page.

Most often when practice is canceled due to weather we will be taking the day off. However there may be the occasion that we move practice indoors to a hitting cage.

The Bombers Coaches will be following the field status reports as provided by the City of O’Fallon – HERE.  The City of O’Fallon usually updates the field status by 10am the day of so there isn’t a lot of advance notice typically on the status of the practice fields.

If you have any questions as to how to get your Twitter account set up for Mobile Alerts just let your coach know and they can assist in getting you set up, or email us HERE.
