April 12 – O’Fallon, MO – The O’Fallon Community Athletic Club released the 2014 baseball schedule today. The full compliment of Bombers schedules can be found on the Bombers Baseball Calendar.
Coach Scachitti will have the honor of opening up the 2014 season for the Bombers Program. Scachitti’s 8u team will be face the Fire Hawks at 6pm on April 22nd at Westhoff Field #2. It will be a doubleheader of sorts for the Bombers Program as Coach Kerns 10u team will square off against Josephville across the street at Ozzie’s Field G that same night at 7:45pm.
Coach Ashby’s 8u team will open their season the following night, April 23rd with a game at Westhoff Field #2 against The Outlaws with first pitch scheduled for 6:00pm. Coach Ashby was asked about the lack of familiarity of his team’s opponents this year, “It’s going to be a fun season for the boys with the chance to test their skills against some new teams. At the end of the day, if our boys stay focused on playing hard and having fun they’ll be fine.”
The Bombers 12u team led by Coach Eckardt will get their season underway on May 2nd opening up against the Coyotes at Westhoff Field #1. Coach Eckardt commented on the extended wait to get the season started, “It’s been a long winter and everyone’s anxious to get the season started. The boys have put in the practice time during the offseason and appear ready to take the next step as a team.” The 12u team turns around with their 2nd game just a few days later on Monday, May 5th at Ozzie’s Field B.
Last, but certainly not least, the newest Bombers team will take the field for the first time ever on May 5th with a home game against Josephville on Westhoff Field #3. The 5/6u Coach Pitch team will play 10 games in their inaugural season.
