2016 Bombers Baseball

Believe it or not, it’s time to start planning for the 2016 Bombers Baseball season. We had the great pleasure of welcoming many new families to the program in 2015 and look forward to everyone returning for another year of baseball fun.

I need to understand who is planning to return for 2016. To help me compile this information, I’ve created a Google Form HERE to be filled out. It shouldn’t take but a couple of minutes to complete. I appreciate your help in responding via the form vs. an email as I’m able to keep all of the responses in one place using the Google Form tool.

I’m anticipating we’ll have further expansion of our teams in 2016. New players joined during the Fall session that we anticipate will return for the upcoming Spring to join our previous group of Spring ballplayers. As a result, in an effort to accommodate everyone we’ll expand our roster of teams accordingly.

Below is a tentative outline of the 2016 Bombers Baseball Program.  I think you’ll find things pretty much the same, with the focus on providing the boys a program rich of instruction and development catered to the child’s desired baseball experience at an affordable price.

Winter Warm-Up – Beginning in January we’ll gather the group for hitting, throwing and fielding instruction. The Winter Warm-Up has traditionally been held on Saturday late afternoon / early evening and features a 60 minute to 90 minute training session.

Spring Training – As the weather turns for the better, we’ll move the boys outside to an area practice field. Historically we’ve rented Westhoff Field #2 for practices held on Sunday afternoon.  We usually begin renting outdoor field time in mid-March.

In-Season – Most of our teams will participate in the OCAC (O’Fallon Community Athletic Club) with games played at Westhoff Park or Ozzie Smith’s Athletic Complex. Teams that are interested will also have an opportunity to participate in a Wednesday Night League hosted at C&H Ballpark in St. Peters. Additionally, we may have one of our 10u teams in a league based out of Chesterfield. The regular season start date will vary by age level, but it’s safe to assume an early April start for our older teams (9u and 10u) and mid to late April start for our younger teams.

Tournaments – Traditionally we’ve included two tournaments as part of the cost to participate for our 8u, 9u and 10u teams. We’ll likely increase the number of tournaments for a few of our teams, based on their intent to play an additional tournament. We’re able to customize this to fit the needs and expectations for each team.

Uniforms – We’ll be staying with the same make / model of uniform in 2016. The 8u, 9u and 10u players will wear a two button jersey. Our 7u and 6u teams will wear a Moisture Management T-Shirt.  You can view our uniform HERE.

Costs – We’re not anticipating a big change in the cost structure from 2015. You can view the cost structure we had in place last year to get an idea of what to expect for 2016. If we do have changes to the cost structure, they will be explained in detail prior to releasing the 2016 Program Fees.  View 2015 Program Fees HERE
